Hey Everyone! Sorry this post is a day late, but as I was out celebrating America's birthday I didn't have time to actually write until now. However, since the 4th of July is my second favorite holiday (the first being Halloween) I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share with you all what this special day means to me.
Between the fireworks, cookouts, cute outfits, time with friends and family, what is there not to love about July 4th. Yet, in my opinion, the best thing about this day is the feeling of patriotism throughout the country. The American flag flies high and we honor the men and women who fought to make the USA a free land. We remember July 4, 1776 when the American colonies declared their independence from Great Britain regardless of the consequences. In the words of founding father John Adams,
"I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure it will cost us to maintain this declaration, and support and defend these states. Yet through all the gloom I see the rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is worth all the means. This is our day of deliverance."
And from that day forward the United States became one of the greatest nations of the world. I continue to believe in the greatness of this country because I know that there will always be those who will fight to keep this one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Happy Independence Day!!
